As a Legal Manager you will be responsible for managing legal and compliance matters across the organization. You will provide expert legal advice, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and mitigate legal risks. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Duties and responsibilities include:- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of legal and compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide legal guidance on a wide range of matters, including contracts, corporate governance, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and review contracts and agreements, ensuring they are legally sound and aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor and analyse changes in laws and regulations that impact the business, providing recommendations for compliance and risk management.
- Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews to identify potential areas of risk and implement corrective actions.
- Handle legal disputes and manage relationships with external legal counsel as needed.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategies that address legal and compliance issues.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on legal and compliance matters.
- Prepare and review reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure the companys operations and practices adhere to legal and ethical standards.
Requirements:- B. Com Law/ LLB or equivalent
- Admitted attorney (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years post admission experience in a commercial or legal role
- Knowledge on National credit act, POPIA, and Financial advisory
- Strong verbal communications and report writing skills
- Excellent numerical skills
