Responsibilities: Information retrieval and reference service: Coordinates and delivers a complete professional information service to the faculty. Information skilling and knowledge sharing: Training clients to become information literate and discerning users of information through the application of information skilling and knowledge sharing using latest technologies to enhance the quality of training. Teaching and learning support: The incumbent becomes a partner in teaching and learning providing advanced teaching and learning support. Embedded librarianship: Partners with the Faculty to embed personalised assistance to staff and students to embed subject course content within the curriculum and specific courses. Blended librarianship: Improves collaboration with faculty, academics, and students to become an instructional partner including in the e-learning environment. Current awareness: Delivering current awareness and alerting services for the faculty according to subjects, profiles and needs. Research Support: Assist the Faculty Librarian in coordinating and facilitating research support to the faculty by the compilation of a faculty research profile and researcher profiles when needed. Collection development and maintenance support: Supports and collaborates with academic staff in the development and maintenance of their subject specific teaching and research collection. Marketing networking and professional development: Actively promotes the value and importance of library services and resources to all clients. Reporting: Compiles accurate library reports e.g. monthly reports and reviews and keeps accurate statistics. Minimum of a three-year degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years' proven experience of information service provision in a higher education institution library or special/research library.
