Lodge Manager - Waterberg

Candidate requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a 5-star luxury lodge environment
  • Appropriate qualifications to support the experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required for interacting with both staff and guests
  • Good written English communication
  • Administrative and budgeting skills with computer literacy in Microsoft Office and PanStrat
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • An ability to be both flexible and adaptable given the nature of the industry good time management skills.
  • A leaning to social upliftment initiatives
  • A passion for gardening

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the overall management and smooth and efficient operation of the Lodge;
  • Liaising with guests regarding their planned trips, dietary requirements and wish lists.
  • Managing the catering for guests. This includes working with the chefs and supervisors in menu planning, dietary requirements, ordering provisions and hosting.
  • Hosting of guests.
  • A commitment to upskilling staff to run the lodge with minimal management intervention.
  • Managing and recording all stock relevant to the lodge including, amongst others,cleaning materials, beverage and food stocks.
  • Manage all staff related matters, including their working hours, time off, performance evaluations, annual leave, training and duties.
  • Managing the curio shop, spa and spa therapist attached to the lodge. Liaising with guests regarding bookings for the spa.
