PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The purpose of this role is to maintain an up-to-date administrative record of all logistical activity in the company, pro-actively plan the loads and drivers as per client schedule, to and ensure all the drivers and vehicles are legally compliant. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Keep up to date of client schedule requirements and conduct planning of the loads and drivers accordingly, ensuring vehicle and driver availability and there are no logistic bottle-necks. · Co-ordinate and keep up-to-date communication flowing between Operations, Logistics and Drivers. · Identify and outsource transporters as and when required. · Create the driver and loading document packs and handover to and collect from drivers timeously. · Process and keep an up-to-date record of all logistics administration. · Keep a record of and monitor all company vehicle licences, permits and certifications. · Ensure all vehicle inspections are conducted and recorded. · Address all logistic non-conformances within the required timeframe. · Keep a record of and monitor the Vehicle Usage Logs and Vehicle Telematic System. · Ensure the vehicles are serviced accordingly by keeping a record and monitoring the vehicle service intervals. · Ensure all driver medicals and inductions are completed. KEY SKILLS: · Strong Administrative skills · Planning and organisational skills · Excellent time management skills · Excellent interpersonal skills · Attention to detail MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: · 2-5 years’ experience in logistics administration and planning. · Excellent understanding of trucks and trailers. · Valid driver’s licence. · Matric · Intermediate Level of MS Office Packages SALARY: R15 000,00 (dependant on work experience).
