Plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, inventory management, and distribution activities. Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs. Coordinate with procurement, production, and sales departments to forecast demand, plan inventory replenishment, and optimize inventory turnover. Negotiate contracts and service agreements with transportation carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers to secure competitive rates and ensure timely delivery. Monitor transportation schedules, routes, and performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions. Oversee the handling, storage, and distribution of goods in warehouses and distribution centers to optimize space utilization and minimize damages. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and safety. Analyze logistical data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, assess performance, and make data-driven decisions. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards governing logistics, transportation, and inventory management. Supervise and mentor logistics staff, providing leadership, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high level of professionalism and productivity. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree may be preferred for certain positions. Proven experience in logistics management, with at least 3-5 years of progressively responsible roles in a logistics or supply chain environment. Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and processes, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution. Proficiency in using logistics software and systems for inventory control, transportation management, and warehouse management (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS). Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal departments, external vendors, and customers. Leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and develop a team of logistics professionals. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve logistical challenges and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export documentation requirements is desirable.
