A well-established and fast-growing distributor and manufacturer of industrial goods, with operations in Pretoria, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth is seeking a Logistics Coordinator for their operations in Montana in Pretoria. Scheduling drivers’ daily deliveries / collections, coordinating routes, liaising with drivers on the road, monitor and track drivers via tracking system. Effectively coordinating deliveries. Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met and all relevant paperwork completed correctly and processed accordingly. Ensuring that all driver files are up to date and valid (incl. license validation, PDP, Forklift etc.). Ensuring all vehicle licences are renewed prior to expiry. Ensuring vehicle services are booked in advance to ensure availability of a vehicle when required. Ensuring tyres are roadworthy, getting quotes for replacements etc Managing the company process following accidents and incidents including the completion of relevant systems. Attend to and assist with possible breakdowns of vehicles on the road. Keeping track of fuel expenses vs consumption to ensure cost effectiveness. Staff management and coordination in the warehouse area. Ensure enough staff are available when large deliveries are received. Prior logistical or planning experienced needed. Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication. Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Good organization and time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to use computers, software and other technology for inventory and communication purposes. Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions. Good administration skills Prior logistical or planning experienced needed. Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication. Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Good organization and time management skills.
