Machine Shop Assistant - New Germany
An opportunity has become available in a manufacturing company in New Germany Description The incumbent is responsible for: Operating & monitoring of CNC & conventional machines.De-burring, cleaning, preserving & packing of machined parts Key Responsibility Areas Core Functions: · Reads and interprets work instructions and job cards. · Operate CNC & Conventional Lathes and Milling machines. · Operate Drill Press for drilling, tapping, countersinking and de-burring. · Replace worn or damaged tooling. · Be observant by hearing and seeing if tools are cutting efficiently and are not damaged. · Observe operation of machine and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications, using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers and micrometers. · Deburr parts to ensure they meet drawing & customer specifications. · Follow all safety policies & procedures. · Ensure that the latest revision level drawings are used at all times. · Clean and maintain machine. Replace coolant and consumables as required. · Do daily pre-maintenance inspections. Report any issues. · Use calibrated instruments to measure parts. · Ensure all instruments and tools are used correctly. Ensure safe storage of instruments and tools. · Maximize the use of cutting tools. · All machine tools; cutting tools; cutting inserts and instruments must be accounted and immediately made available when required. · Sign job cards for 1st off and sign as complete. · Scan job cards. · Comply with all regulatory; safety; company specific policies and standards as well as ensure that Protective Gear is worn at all times · Adherence to late coming and Absenteeism policies Non-Core Functions: · Records, reports and documents applicable paperwork.
