Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Technician to join our team. The Machine Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of various machinery and equipment within our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of our production processes.

REQUIREMENTS

Relevant Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Machine Technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing machinery and equipment.
Familiarity with various tools and equipment used in machine maintenance and repair.
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
Commitment to safety and compliance with regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance technicians should have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and/or other relevant technical systems. Computer and Networking skills would be an advantage. This must include skills such as troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
Prior experience in maintenance work is preferred. This could include experience gained through previous jobs, internships, apprenticeships, or vocational training programs.
Maintenance technician candidates need to be able to identify issues with equipment or systems, diagnose the root cause of problems, and develop effective solutions. Strong problem-solving skills are therefore essential.
Maintenance work involves working with intricate systems and machinery, so attention to detail is crucial to ensure that repairs and maintenance tasks are performed accurately and safely.
Candidates must be familiar with safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries while working with potentially hazardous equipment or in hazardous environments.
Maintenance technicians often need to communicate with other team members, supervisors, and external vendors or contractors. Customer Satisfaction skills and communication with the customer are essential. Clear verbal and written communication skills are important for effectively conveying information about maintenance tasks, issues, and solutions.
Maintenance work can be physically demanding, requiring technicians to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions and environments. Good physical stamina and dexterity are therefore advantageous.
Maintenance technicians may encounter a wide range of equipment and systems, so the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and processes is valuable.
