Our company is a leading supplier and manufacturer of civil engineering and mining laboratory equipment in the South African market. We require a positive, dynamic, energetic & self-motivated Machinist that can work well alone or in a team. • Operating conventional Lathes, Milling machines and drilling machines in order to produce parts • Must be able to run in a production environment • Must have experience in working with the following steels / metals Carbon Steel Stainless steel Brass Aluminium Plastics Tool steels • Use of measuring equipment • Work to tight tolerances • Machine shop problem solving •Repairs to the above machines •Must be able to work overtime on short notice •Ensure the companies tool stock is sufficient enough for the jobs we have lined up at all times to keep our production line running. SKILLS: •Technical techniques relating to the machinery that is required to be operated •Geometry and mathematics •Blueprint reading •Attention to detail •Detailed Communication •Problem solving •Working with hand tools in a safe manner •To work independently and without supervision •Basic rigging SPECIAL DEMANDS: •Some lifting of heavy parts and equipment at times •Prolonged standing and moving around to accomplish tasks •Exposure to heat and cold generic to the workshop environment •Qualified / Experienced Machinist •Minimum 5 years' experience R80 to R120 per hour CTC
