The role will be based in Woodstock, Cape Town and will report to the Building Manager. Job description Job Purpose: Provide efficient/effective general maintenance service to all departments. Take care of maintenance and repair requests on site including basic plumbing, carpentry, training room set-ups, office moves, stock control, furniture control and other basic duties as required. Maintenance Perform planned preventative maintenance, ad hoc maintenance and Space planning office moves, receiving and completing work orders as delegated by the Building Manager. Must have general knowledge and experience of plumbing, painting and general handyman duties. Will be required to work overtime and weekends on occasion. Health & Safety & OHS Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and requirements in the workplace. Consult and advise Management on non-conformity of H & S. Minimum requirements Qualifications and Experience: Minimum Grade 12 Previous Handyman experience minimum 5 years. Skills, Abilities and Job Related Knowledge: Able to Read and Write English and communicate well. Understand and follow oral and written instructions Must be able to lift and carry boxes some of which may be heavy. Must be comfortable working at heights Essential Competencies: Attention To Detail – Maintain a high level of attention to detail – identifying problems before they are logged and brought to our attention. Safety Awareness - Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety including their own safety. Initiating Action - Being proactive and identifying maintenance issues before they require replacement.
