MAINTENANCE FITTER X2 Bellville Situated in the Bellville Operations Division (Maintenance Department), vacancies exist for Maintenance Fitters. SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS In depth understanding of Hydraulics including proportional control and various hydraulic pumps Ability to follow and interpret drawings. Strong fault-finding ability and quick response to complex mechanical problems Overhead crane maintenance on Motors; Gearboxes; Rail wheel bearings; Chain rope and cable systems The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work independently is a definite requirement. The ability to work independently without supervision safely and with minimal support. CNC and NC Controlled understanding and fault-finding is a must (Plasma, Rolling and Bending) QUALIFICATIONS Qualified Mechanical Fitter with a Section 13 Red Seal Trade test. Matric certificate with Mathematics and Science National technical certificate Mechanical Engineering NTC 04; NTC 05/06 will be advantageous. EXPERIENCE A minimum of 5 years in a Heavy engineering/manufacturing environment, with experience in equipment maintenance, fault-finding and repairs. Applicants with the broadest exposure to the following equipment will be preferred: Automatic welding machines MIG Welding Machines Spot-welding equipment Overhead cranes and hoists Rotating equipment, e.g. Plate Rolling machines Shotblasting equipment Guillotines; Press brakes ; Flanger (Former) and CNC Plasma welding equipment CNC Bending machines; Hydraulic pipe formers; NC Lathes; Column and boom Sub Arc machines. Foundry Equipment e.g. Core belter moulding machines and Omega Mixing machines Mechanical knowledge in conveyor systems; hydraulics and pneumatics a must. Foundry/Fettling and Heavy engineering background would be advantageous. Interviews will take place at our Bellville Office. PLEASE NOTE: CVs without certificates will be disqualified.
