Reference: JHB000480-AT-1 Well established packaging company based in Western Cape, Cape Town is looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join their team. Requirements: Matric certificate or equivalent Be in possession of at least a N5 qualification or equivalent qualification in a mechanical field Have previous injection & compression moulding experience is advantageous Have hydraulic and pneumatic experience Have at least 5 years maintenance experience in a production environment An ability to interact with employees at different levels Good communication skills An active member of the team Identify and solve problems effectively Logical, systematic approach A passion for Quality An ability to handle conflict and to diffuse it constructively A willingness to work overtime Have a proactive “Can do” attitude towards their work Responsibilities: Conducting and co-coordinating all maintenance on machinery and equipment in the department Completing maintenance schedules and programmes for each machine as per supplier recommendation Building and controlling an inventory of spares for the machines Properly maintaining maintenance records as per ISO 9001 Quality System Attending to machine breakdowns Ordering of necessary equipment and tools for the factory when necessary Attending relevant meetings i.e DRM's Production Meetings, etc where necessary Assist production in achieving optimum efficiencies Advising on and implementing technical improvements where appropriate and cost effective Actively ensuring that all machines are serviced, cared for and maintained appropriately Be available for call outs/after hours Ensuring that the machines are running for night shifts Seek and implement continuous improvement opportunities Involved in equipment installations and upgrades
