DAYBREAK FOODS requires the services of a suitably qualified Mechanical Foreman to supervise daily plant engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Responsibilities include compiling cost trends for review by the engineering manager, preparing downtime reports, and managing disciplinary issues. Identify engineering challenges and lead improvement plans, promoting team cohesion. Lead a cohesive team of artisans. Oversee daily plant maintenance, ensuring budget adherence. Evaluate suppliers, compile cost trends, and handle downtime reports and disciplinary matters. Issue job cards, manage timesheets, and maintain spares availability. Recommend equipment replacements and ensure workshop cleanliness. Oversee employee and apprentice training, ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements. Provide guidance, mentoring, and develop succession plans. Maintain a clean working area and enforce safe working and food safety procedures. Act as safety and food safety representative, foster a safety culture, and conduct risk assessments. Ensure compliance with PPE requirements, security systems, environmental regulations, and OSHAct standards. Ensure compliance with Quality and Food Safety standards. Participate in food safety and quality committees and meetings when nominated. Matric / Grade 12/N3 with Math's and Science N6/ National Dip Engineering Trade Test (Millwright/Mech) with Management Certificate beneficial. 5 years' experience in processing environment. Relevant experience within a Food factory environment FMCG (Poultry) would be beneficial. Ammonia refrigeration, and mechanical knowledge would be beneficial. Working experience/knowledge of ISO Management systems and standards. Own transport and valid driver's license required. Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point)
