Managed Services Security Specialist - South Africa

Key responsibilities Establish and enforce a standard operating procedure and process. In-depth and effective security knowledge and expertise Conduct regular audit as needed to determine the importance of assets in the customer network and apply a step by step approach; 1. Audit – Determine what is important and why. 2. Partition – Separate the important from the unimportant data. 3. Fix – Make default-configured systems more secure. 4. Monitor – Add monitoring and logging systems to round out the security. 5. Protect – Make a plan, and a contact sheet for when attacks happen. 6. Check – Do a dry run – and attack own systems and networks as per standard operating procedure in order to drive continuous improvements. 7. Update – Keep current, and re-evaluate the design as things change. Determine and translate customer needs and deliver highest quality of services Provide scope, approach, and task estimating input to the project stakeholders. Analyses existing internal and customer workflows and processes and designs solutions to improve customer processes by fully utilizing advanced technologies with focus on automation. Participates in the development and implementation of projects around Hosting products and services. Testing of systems and application functionality in support of lifecycle management for patches, upgrades, and infrastructure Determine root cause of application failures and document root cause Analysis Submit Enhancement requests to Product Management Assists team in troubleshooting and diagnostic activities information to predict future performance and identify problem issues. Uses site administrator tools to run performance reports. Communicate technical solutions to non-technical users Document and ensure successful implementation of the architectural roadmap of technology areas. Document and present system designs, plans, results of proof of concepts and research papers for technologies within area of responsibility. Administer the environment by ensuring that performance tuning, patch management and upgrades are done on a regular basis according to operating procedure. Take full ownership and responsibility of the hosting operations within the organization. Ensure that the environments are backed up in accordance with the Neotel policies and best practices. Ensure that the Department and the Division meet their objectives and key imperatives. Firewall Support: Manage and maintain Firewall. Keep firmware updated Analyze network traffic and provide support to network team on network problems. Creating and maintaining IPSEC and VPN tunnels via the Cisco, Fortigate and Palo Alto firewalls. Setup and maintain Bandwidth management on Firewalls between Neotel and customers Setup and maintain security policies and procedure regarding new and exit users. Assist Server Support in keeping Active Directory Clean by ensuring that User exit procedures are followed. Manage the auditing of Active Directory and report on high risk changes made by domain administrators. Disaster recovery and Security Reports: Report monthly on Antivirus, Web and Email filters, firewalls and Active Directory. Ensure that Disaster recovery plans of all security devices are up to date and tested yearly. Security User support: Assist with security related website and email problems. Help with the creation of new users and groups. Create and assign transactions and roles to users in customers environment Requirements, Experience and Attributes The ideal candidate for this post should have the following: Qualification and Skills: Degree or Diploma in IT/Computer Science and related qualification ITIL certified Professional membership preferred CISA/CISM/CISSP/CRISC/CCSP is an advantage. CCSK (Cloud computing security knowledge). BCS (business continuity). CIPP (Privacy). ISEB practitioner certificate in data protection (research). SIEM ITIL CCNA,CCNP, CCDP Certification will be added advantage Strong knowledge of and experience with firewall technology (ACLs, packet inspection, traffic filtering, NAT/PAT), or VPN technology (IPSec, SSL and client less VPNs, remote access, AAA, certificates), ideally with Cisco’s ASA products, Fortigate and Pal Alto. Very solid general networking skills, with knowledge of and experience with networking protocols at all levels of the protocol stack, covering architecture, design, implementation, expansion, and troubleshooting of enterprise-level secure networks. 5-10Yrs of technical experience at specialist levels At least 5Yrs of technical experience with computer networking, and with firewalls and/or VPNs. Experience working with Unix/Linux command line. 5Yrs operations experience in security operations centre Technical proficiency with email and the email infrastructure or web security technologies and networking infrastructure. Email administration, Anti-Spam and/or Anti-Virus experience desired. Experience with LDAP and Windows Active Directory Service a plus. Experience deploying and maintaining DNS a plus Use Oral Communication Skills English: Fluent Experience: The ideal candidate will possess sound knowledge of security architecture and operations of all components of the Infrastructure comprising of Network, Compute and Storage services commiserate with service management and data protection needs of a small, medium and large enterprise. Technical Support specialist who has development and quality assurance experience and specializes in firewall and VPN. Will be working in Operations managing a team to determine the cause of customer-reported problems. Will serve as one of the primary technical contacts focusing on the firewall and related security products as Managed, Hosted and Virtual firewall, Hosted threat management and Clean Pipe services. Willing to work a flexible hours to meet business requirements. Extensive experience, across a wide spectrum of security technologies and infrastructure including but not limited to firewalls Hands on experience setting up and configuring various hosting applications Expert knowledge in troubleshooting various hosting infrastructure technologies. Clear understanding of Operations support services Must be able to proactively identify problem areas and provide or recommend solutions. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior level executives of the organization. Able to organize work flow to meet numerous milestones and deadlines.
