Management Accountant - Johannesburg
Our client in the Transportation industry is seeking a Management Accountant to join their team.
Requirements
- Bcom Accounting degree.
- Post graduate qualification.
- 5 years experience within the financial environment.
- Previous experience in Manufacturing/ Transportation industry.
- Proven experience in financial planning and analysis.
- Knowledge of IFRS and Financial principles.
- Knowledge of accounting software (Sage and Pastel).
Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for generating monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, income statements and accompanying schedules.
- Ensure accuracy of Management Accounts packs and meet established deadlines.
- Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for management.
- Analyze Budget Vs Actual variances and communicate findings.
- Conduct reconciliations and generate reports for various company accounts pertaining to cash flow.
- Prepare audit packs and collaborate with auditors on annual financial statements.
- Perform regular review of cashbooks, invoicing, and debtors age analysis, assisting in credit control management.
- Review and coordinate capex applications for the business.
- Investigate Expense variances and incorporate findings into Income Statement schedules as notes.
- Review monthly fixed assets and Capex reporting.
- Address and follow up on account queries promptly.
- Evaluate and enhance the system of internal controls and promote more efficient management systems.
- Produce precise monthly management accounts within agreed timelines.
- Supporting the annual business plan and quarterly forecasting processes for all operations in accordance with the business goals.
- Share relevant data with management teams to enable reliable business decision-making.
