To lead, plan, control and coordinate the execution of all operational plans as per short- and long-range objectives within allocated areas of responsibility by assigning team members to specific tasks and schedule work to ensure that activities are delivered as per the contractual agreement and within budget and aligned to global standards and regulations. . Warehouse Optimise the level of all receiving, handling and expediting of parts and materials. Maintain and improve level of service to various production facilities. Maintain stock levels as per defined criteria. Maintain stock integrity at all times. Report financials accurate and complete on Inventory. Manage stock control, availability and optimum stockholding. Logistics Verify that all parts and materials ordered are received as per demand schedules and timeously. Recommend ways to optimise freight costs between sea and airfreight. Assist with the management of freight agents to ensure full tracking and visibility of inbound freight. Recommend ways to improve and optimize the outbound delivery of goods to various production operations. Maintain Company assets in terms of vehicles are maintained and effectively utilized at all times. Assist with the selection of service provider appointments and associated budgets and system employed Continuous improvement Initiate, lead and support improvement and change initiatives. Implement best operating practices are implemented and continuous improvement embedded within all functions. Achieve savings targets by evaluating gaps and identifying solutions. Implement best practice, continuous improvement and innovation at process and procedure level by applying Just in Time demand setting & Inventory Management. Identify facilities to be modified to support operating methods and thereby contributing to efficiencies. Monitor and control productivity improvement measures to ensure acceptable levels of productivity are maintained. Identify and recommend innovative solutions to continuously improve the business, processes and procedures. Execute organisational and production changes on an operative level. Risk Management Assist in the development of a Disaster Recovery Plan. Implement strategies and systems to ensure the effective management of all warehouse and logistics transactions as well as all related risks. Implement financial risk and controls for effectiveness and adherence. Identify and report irregularities before they become problems. Identify and recommend measures to minimise accidents from happening based on operational experience. Reporting Report monthly on Key Performance Indicators. Report on outputs, status, risks and management of projects. Provide regular feedback to Manager on the status of operations within areas of responsibility. Lead Team Lead and coordinate activities derived from the Business Unit Plan for areas of responsibility and engaged team members to align all on common goals. Distribute manpower as per operational requirements by utilizing techniques such as multi-skilling and job rotation for business continuity and optimising of manpower. Assign members to specific tasks fairly as per their skill and coach, train, motivate and supervise them to optimise performance. Review the work scope in advance to determine the requirements and availability of spares, tooling, work space and equipment to maximise efficiency of the team. Create a performance culture amongst team members and demand a high-quality standard of work in line with approved processes and procedures. Develop capacity plans to support operational requirements and application of lean principles. Apply disciplinary action consistently when required to ensure high levels of discipline are in place amongst staff. Manage subordinates leave on the ESS system and ensure on time approval. Manage all time keeping elements of subordinates and ensure required information is submitted monthly on time to payroll. Audit & Compliance Review all processes regularly to ensure alignment with Government requirements. Participate in Governance and Compliance audits and ensure documentation required for audits are available as requested. Action Corrective Action (CARs) identified in audits timeously. Maintain documentation in a required standard of all worked performed, defects that has been addressed and corrective actions that has been taken and provide supporting documentation in all cases. Implement and monitor metrics for compliance. Ensure compliance to all statutory rules and regulations. Comply to relevant legislation in terms of Customs Rebate Quality & SHE Implement and support SHEQ initiatives and objectives. Maintain safe and compliant working conditions and sound engineering practices. Conform to health and safety regulations. Validate quarterly inventory checks of all Division owned assets done by team. Manage adherence to Quality standards of all of all regulatory bodies to support the Division to maintain current accreditations and apply for new accreditations. Carry out continuous checks to ensure compliance to quality, housekeeping, approvals and safety procedures and policies. Tertiary qualification in Finance, Supply Chain Management Business Management, Procurement, Logistics or related field equivalent to NQF 6. Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) / South Africa Production Control Society (SAPICS) or similar. 5 years' experience of all facets of logistics and supply chain management and operations in a high technical industry.
