CAREER OPPORTUNITY Santam has a position available as the Quality Standards and Compliance Manager within the Quality Assessments department. The Quality Assessments function operates with a management mandate in the 2nd line of defense, providing an independent, objective assurance and advisory service to assist business in enhancing the overall operational governance, quality, and service standards. We are looking for a highly professional and driven individual to assume this role based in Centurion Pretoria (Hybrid). The position reports to the Manager Quality Assessments. JOB DESCRIPTION Supply chain management research, development, project management, claims business initiatives, quality standards, compliance standards and documentation, contributing to the overall profitability of the Quality Knowledge Management, Group Sourcing and Claims Management business areas. Develops and owns claims supplier governance methodologies, governing policies and procedures, supplier quality service and compliance standards, and specifications that serve as input into Santam's claims procurement supply chain management, reviews, quality annexures to supplier agreements and SOP’s. Ensures legal, regulatory and Santam policy, philosophy and process alignment and compliance, with regard to all claims suppliers, influence industry stakeholders to uplift and enhance standards, compliance and practices in the respective industries. Management of new ad-hoc strategic projects within the claim’s supplier environment. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE We’re all about building strong, lasting relationships with our employees. SKILLS • The ideal candidate must have a high level of integrity and be able to provide specialist supply chain management input. • Strong leadership skills to sell ideas and obtain management buy-in for constructive change is essential. • Good problem-solving skills are required. • The ability to plan effectively and manage on time delivery in a pressurized environment is also required. • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, people, and diplomacy skills are required • Stay abreast with best practices, industry regulations, risks, assurance techniques and tools through research, association with profession bodies, etc. • Supplier contract performance-, corrective and preventative action- and dispute management. • Oversight and acting as the second line of defence, reciprocally in business and in the claims supply chain, in terms of business risk, regulatory risk and compliance risk. • Participation in strategic cross-departmental, multi-disciplinary sourcing group team(s) and supplier meetings. • Representing Santam, networking and influencing industry stakeholders (suppliers, associations, certification bodies, etc.) to uplift and enhance standards, compliance, and practices in the respective industries.
