Managment and Cost Accountant - Gauteng Primary objective of the role The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our manufacturing business by providing accurate and timely financial information, cost analysis, and management reporting. The candidate shall support the financial manager in the finance function through investigation, analysis and reporting of financial data while collaborating closely with various departments to ensure effective cost control, budgeting, and financial decision-making. 5 Duties & responsibilities Primary Duties Cost Accounting: oConduct regular cost analysis to identify and understand variances between actual costs and budgeted costs. oAnalyse production costs, investigate discrepancies, and provide actionable insights to enhance cost efficiency. oCollaborate with the production team to ensure accurate recording of costs and inventory valuation. Budgeting and Forecasting: oAssist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts. oWork closely with department heads to gather relevant data and provide insights to support budgetary decisions. oMonitor and report on budget vs. actual performance, identifying areas for improvement. Financial Reporting: oAssist the Financial Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in compliance with shareholder and regulatory requirements oGenerate and analyse key financial reports for management, highlighting trends and areas of concern. oProvide financial information to support decision-making at both operational and strategic levels. Variance Analysis: oConduct in-depth variance analysis, providing explanations for discrepancies and recommending corrective actions. oCollaborate with department managers to understand and address budget variances in a proactive manner. Process Improvement: oIdentify opportunities for process improvement in cost accounting and financial reporting. oImplement best practices to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial processes. Secondary duties •Assist Finance department in monthly reporting requirements •Assist other departments and divisions in cost measurement, analysis and monitoring •Assist Executive Directors with required functions as required Qualifications & Skills •Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent, finance or related •Experience in Financial and management accounting and analytics •Strong financial analysis skills •Advanced understanding of mathematics and statistics •Experience with advanced excel modelling •Strong computer literacy skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel •Experience in group finance and tax •Experience with Pastel or similar accounting software •Excellent attention to detail •Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships while adhering Company policies Monthly Salary: Market related Apply Now
