MARKET ANALYST - PRETORIA MARINE DIVISION Reports to: General ManagerInternal Team Interaction: Across marine division:Exchange of information, support and advice.External Interaction: Suppliers, dealers, customers, industry associations, service providers: exchange of information, support, advice NO. WHAT? ACTIVITY HOW? TASKS TO BE EXECUTED CRITICAL OUTCOMES REQUIREMENT 1. Market Forecasting Review monthly AMID reportsIdentify and review all other relevant sources of dataUnderstand, monitor and anticipate market trends and activityReview new product plan and anticipated competitor activityReview Dealer performance and stock informationReview and analyse financial dataIdentify / validate trendsDevelop forecastTrack market performance and prepare reports to management Correct stock levels and mix decisions are enabledOn time, comprehensive and accurate. 2. Marketing Support Recommend and implement website updatesMonitor Dealer websites and advertising for correct brandingAssist and advise on advertising production and placementAssist Commercial Manager and marketing, in promotions, advertising and information exchangeScan print and digital media for industry and competitor information and report relevant findings Team members identify with product and brandAll stakeholders kept informed and motivatedThreats and opportunities identified 3. Communication and reporting Prepare required reporting within company parametersEnsure monthly market and performance reports to supplierProvide monthly report to companyProvide information to dealers on activities, trends, pricing, etcCommunicate market trends to the divisionCompile and distribute bulletins Reports on time and accurate.Dealer remains motivatedSupplier awareness remains current 4. Product Opportunities Remain aware of current product cycles and update/ replacement plans per derivativeConduct research relevant for new product introduction positioning vs competitor model segment, market competitiveness and pricing viabilityAssist with planning for new product introduction datesContact data sources mystery shopper re specifications and pricesCompile competitor specification and comparison to own model lists Stock redundancy minimisedSuccessful and well-tuned product launch enabledPrice competitiveness decision supported.Introduction of new models supported. 5.
