The role is responsible to lead the Marketing and Communication team to sustain and build the WoF-Kishugu brand with a view to improving the income streams for the Kishugu subsidiaries. Responsibilities span oversight of various areas, including organisational branding, media relations, promotions, content management, and related communications to key stakeholders. 1. Strategic Management and Business Planning Develops, executes, and monitors a comprehensive, long-term, and proactive organisation-wide communications, marketing, and branding strategy consistent with the strategic goals, plans, and aspirations of Kishugu Develops organisational policy and corporate governance framework for the company's operations Leads the Marketing and Communication strategy, planning and project management of marketing activities across organisational objectives and for cross-functional initiatives Assesses the various market forces that influence the Communications and Marketing plan and strategy Participates in the development of Company Goals and Strategic Plans and ensures the development, implementation and review of relevant implementation plans to realise these Utilises a research-based approach to identify key messages and audiences Creates a consistent, unified message in support of the Kishugu brand, and articulates the image and brand in the delivery of the message to all internal and external stakeholders Identifies and ensures effective engagement with relevant company stakeholders in order to facilitate the realisation of company goals and strategic plans Leverages key partnerships to support marketing plans, communicate messaging, drive growth, and engage audience Provides strategic leadership in order to align the Communication teams with one another Moderates and approves communications originating from Kishugu and internal stakeholders Evaluates communication strategy and plan and directs modifications as required 2. Risk Management Conducts a Marketing and Communications risk assessment to identify potential risks that could impact strategy and campaigns Analyses data to determine likelihood of risks Adjusts plans based on the identified risks and the risk analysis that determined their likelihood Conducts continuous risk assessments and responds to incidents which may have a negative impact on Kishugu Contributes to the development of and ensures effective monitoring of a strategic and operational risk register within Kishugu 3. Analysis and Reporting Identifies key metrics (engagements, clickthrough rates) to measure communication and marketing effectiveness Gathers, analyses, and reports campaign data Interprets metrics and recommends actions to adapt communication and marketing initiatives for increased effectiveness 4. Quality Control Develops and maintains quality control protocols Ensures adequate quality control mechanisms Ensures quality control of all WoF-Kishugu JV communication products and monitors and reports on effectiveness of the WoF-Kishugu JV communications Trains and mentors staff on quality controls 5. Stakeholder Relations Consults and interacts with key internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery and synergy Provide an advisory service to internal and external stakeholders with regard to engagement with key stakeholder groups Manages stakeholder expectations 6. Financial Management Forecasts annual capital and operational expenses in line with strategic objectives and resulting business plans Manages costs against approved budget Investigates methods to reduce/contain costs Approves departmental expenses and claims 7. People Management Establishes clear performance frameworks with definable performance targets for all portfolio staff Manages employee performance against performance targets Trains, mentors and coaches subordinates Develops and implements specific targeted programmes to motivate employees in specific work environments Manages the transactional human resource administration 8. Continuous Improvement Keeps abreast of technological advances in area of responsibility Collaboratively shares knowledge and practices with team Tests potential best practice and recommends solutions Required minimum qualification Graduate Qualification in Communications / Business Administration or related disciplines which include Communication, Marketing Management or Brand Management. Required minimum work experience 10 years' relevant experience in leading a Marketing / Communications / Stakeholder Relations team working across a wide spectrum of stakeholder engagements.
