MARKETING HEAD SOUTHERN REGION BBEEE (Cato Ridge, Durban) R 1.5 Million PA CTC - Gauteng

Manufacturing Company specializing in Coated Steel and Building solutions with a footprint through SA and Africa seeks a Marketing Head to direct, manage and co-ordinate all marketing functions within the prescribed segment with the aim of standardization of marketing services across the segment. To implement marketing strategies agreed for the Group, identify new market opportunities and ensure the effective development and promotion of the Group and its products and services within the segment as per the Group strategy.Qualifications required:Minimum academic qualification: A Degree-level qualification.Qualifications as an added advantage: Post Graduate studies would be an advantage.Professional registration: Relevant Marketing Association Experience required:Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): At least 8 years of senior management experience, of which at least 5 should be in a leadership marketing role within Africa. Industry experience: Industrial / Manufacturing / FMCG / Ad Agency or Design experience will be an advantageKey responsibilities: The function of the Marketing Head Southern Group covers 2 key areas; firstly, to ensure that the Marketing Personnel in the region are equipped and guided to provide the optimal strategic and operational support required by the BU’s in the Region and secondly, to ensure that the Group Brand and its Product Brands are strategically aligned with those of other regions in the Group, to build the equity and value of the Group Corporate and Product brandsThis function is accountable for the deliverables of the Regional Marketing team but is not responsible for day to day delivery.Specific functions include but are not limited to:To guide, mentor and support all Marketing Officers in the preparation and implementation of their operational/regional Marketing Strategies and PlansMonitor, and report on all Marketing activities and plans for advertising and marketing of the Region’s products in the region to raise the market profile, brand equity, and increase sales of corporate and product brands.Ensure the deliverables required against each BU’s marketing budget are met by the operational marketing teams.Ensure that Brand Management principles are applied to all the Region’s branding and associated activities Support and facilitate implementation of sectoral and regional and Pan African marketing initiatives.Manage the articulation of product and service offerings and key benefits to be utilised by the relevant sales and marketing teams.Strategic Inputs and Guidance Working with the Marketing Team, provide marketing inputs to the Region’s BU Marketing / Business Plans to facilitate business growth. Develop a marketing strategy, with brand and portfolio objectives, strategies and plans in line with BU / Regional Objectives and the BU / Regional Business Plan.Leverage the Segment’s business competitiveness by developing competitive intelligence, appropriate market research and consumer behaviour techniques.Assist in formulating strategies for Product/Market segmentation and Channel Development in the Business Planning process of the RegionMarket Insights and ResearchProvide all necessary Projections, Forecasts and other reports as required by BU, Regional Officers and the Group.Guide BU’s in the undertaking of market research and in the management of service providers to ensure optimal ROI Develop appropriate metrics to measure and track marketing effectiveness and impact, including but not limited to market share data, customer satisfaction, increased sales, improved reputation/ image, digital performance and more. Additional/specific work requirementsAccountable and Responsible for the registration of Trademarks and intellectual property rights within the Segment and if necessary, the GroupOversee and assist where necessary in the development of suitable training materials to enable training of sales and marketing and related personnel. Develop marketing capability and depth: build and develop a marketing driven team which is informed, competent, commercially astute, dedicated, efficient, and lives the corporate culture Co-ordinate and support the recruitment, selection, and development of suitably qualified marketing officers in conjunction with the relevant business head.Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to the Group executive team, customers, trade channels, the Group and other regions/ countries of operation, as appropriate.Group Communication PoliciesApply Group Reputation Management systems and communication protocols including Crisis Communication protocols.Ensure all BU / Regional communication adheres to all relevant legislation including Consumer Protection Act, Advertising Standards Authority, etc.Develop / apply policies for the compilation of, and correct use of client and prospect databases, mailing list usage and data integrity, adhering to all legislation that governs such communication including POPI.Business Development, New Product Development (NPD)Be a co-driver on business development activities, working closely with the BU Business Heads, and external / internal BU teams responsible for market, channel and product development.Collaborate with relevant senior management to plan, create and produce communications used in support of new products / channels / market segments / territories / Pan-Group initiativesUndertake market research to inform business decisions in new product / new channel / new market development.Budgetary / Procurement responsibility:Guide, approve and manage the reporting of spend through operational marketing programs With Marketing Officers, set clear briefs for procurement of services and goods.Manage and coordinate the budget allowed for specific Group initiatives by each BUDrive standardisation / synergies and purchasing power through common service providers where appropriate (e.g. advertising, creative, digital, other providers)Computer literacy:High literacy in full MS Office suite, and digital applications required for Group and BU communicationAdditional/specific work requirements: Ability to travel domestically, regionally (within Africa), and internationally.We should be looking for a resource with:Very strong leadership, influencing and collaboration skills, Excellent marketing capability on both the B2C and B2B coupled with excellent business acumen with a thorough understanding of P&LDemonstrated ability to create strategy and then drive execution.Evidence of growing and building a strong organization.Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.Email your CV to anthonyjobswcp.co.zaResponsibility:Salary: R R 1.5 MillionJob Reference : AK-HeadMarkConsultant Name: West Coast Personnel Apply Now
