Marketing Manager - East and Southern Africa - Centurion


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a degree in Agriculture/ Business/ Marketing or similar
  • Minimum 7 years extensive experience in a strategic marketing role within agribusiness, food manufacturing, consumer goods, or related industries is essential
  • Experience leading task-driven teams and facilitating strategy sessions with professionals at all levels internally and externally will be required
  • Must have proven abilities in working in a complex geographic region with the ability to collaborate well with a wide variety of individuals, building diverse networks and working quickly to find common ground
  • Must be able to utilise a combination of business intelligence data, intuition, and experience in developing impactful business growth initiatives
  • Fluency in English, with French as an advantage

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing marketing strategy, including a commercialization roadmap to achieve growth, profitability, and timely product introduction, is currently underway.
  • Identifying and characterizing market trends and segments to identify growth opportunities is being actively pursued.
  • Determining marketing intelligence needs for in-depth market mapping and closely monitoring key market segments to drive business growth are ongoing tasks.
  • Collaborating with Portfolio Managers/Commercial teams to adapt strategy to market needs and establishing aligned pricing and distribution strategies is in progress.
  • Managing product portfolio, leading product positioning and pricing activities to create and capture value through differentiated offerings, is continuously being carried out.
  • Assessing external factors influencing short- and long-term product demand and developing actionable marketing strategies to increase value and market share is currently ongoing.
  • Monitoring customer needs in target segments, developing a clear Voice of Customer perspective for the business, is underway.
  • Directing promotional campaigns and specific new product launches for the region, including participation in events and other promotional opportunities, is actively being done.
  • Managing and executing overall brand strategy is currently in motion.
  • Conducting robust segmentation and defining opportunities to win in the most attractive market segments and key product areas is currently being undertaken.
  • Developing channel strategies utilizing effective and value-driven channels is currently ongoing.
  • Ensuring commercial teams have messaging and tools to promote products across multiple stakeholder groups is currently being ensured.
