Master Data Specialist (Medical Equipment Industry) - Midrand

Job description

  • GENERAL SUMMARY:

This role supports the efficient purchasing and management of inventory. You will be responsible for the data integrity of our item master data and will be managing a product portfolio of around 10,000+ active items and around 120+ Suppliers. You will have high levels of attention to detail and be comfortable managing large data sets. The role requires someone capable of managing completion of tasks to strict deadlines. The role also involves costing of foreign shipments received.

  • MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create new vendors and items into the Navision System according to department standard operating processes, reviewing that all documentation is complete and trackable for audit, including MSDS etc.
  • Obtain BBBee certificates from local suppliers and maintain information in compliance tracker for BBBee audits.
  • Actively manage Supplier price lists ensuring data is updated on a timely basis into the Navision System. Completing Cost Variance verification and supporting system updates or credits as required.
  • Maintain Data Integrity ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory controls, such as, Medical Device Classification, Customs Commodity Codes, Supplier INCO terms etc...
  • Update Item priority level, supplier tiers, item categories and Preferred supplier list based on input from Demand Panner and/or Purchasing Lead
  • Compile/calculate and maintain landed costs of all inbound shipments within Navision to assign cost price per unit, communicating changes as needed for maintenance of Selling Price and Margin maintenance.
  • Review and maintain logistics invoice packs received from buyers to ensure completeness and accuracy for both costing and payment purposes. Ensuring master data supports data necessary to manage importation such as customs commodity codes, country of origin and INCO terms.
  • Active involvement in EMEA MDM project
  • Work to ensure appropriate documentation on file to support regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure SOPs followed to support QMS, SAPHRA and SOX compliance.
  • Additional tasks, duties and special projects may be required by the company on request.

  • Time management skills and muti-tasking.
  • Strong Excel knowledge.
  • High attention to detail
  • Process driven, to oversee master data and vendor pricing.
  • Knowledge of logistics and documents required to freight cargo.
  • Having previous empierce in FMCG or medical/ pharma background would be a plus.
  • Good Communication Skills-Written and Verbal
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to get the job done.

  • EDUCATION:

Higher Education Qualification with a certificate in Informatics or equivalent
