Plan, control and administer the day to day activities of the mechanical maintenance workshop. The ideal candidate would be responsible: To take initiative with a proven track record of problem solving. To effectively manage (mechanical) root cause analysis of plant and process malfunction and to implement corrective measures. To effectively manage the existing planned maintenance requirements To administer the 18-week maintenance plan in conjunction with the Pragma asset care engineer. To enhance and improve the On-Key CMMS in conjunction with the Pragma asset care engineer. To lead a maintenance team and to encourage the team to develop ideas / solutions to problems. GMR 2.7a (mechanical) appointee. Commitment and compliance to the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, 20 Keys, AFMA code of conduct, ENMS and any other company management systems. The successful candidate must meet the following requirements: A qualified artisan in the relevant field. 8 years’ experience and knowledge of all mechanical aspects of an animal feed milling plant and processes. A self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset. Previous experience of the Pragma On-key preventative maintenance program will be an advantage. Experience in managing employees will be an advantage. Be able to converse in either English or Afrikaans. Have good verbal, written and numerical skills. Apply the highest standard of ethics and conduct. Work effectively in a team environment. Attention to detail. Flexibility. Has mastered time management skills. Computer literacy. Previous experience in ISO and GMP will be an advantage. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to progress in a multi-skilled environment and a willingness to learn.
