Mechanical Design Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
Job Description:
Develop and manage bills of materials along with their corresponding 3D assemblies
Oversee product data management
Generate 3D parts and 2D part drawings adhering to supplier and regulatory specifications
Collaborate with international suppliers and customers to refine designs
Facilitate concept and design reviews
Acquire proficiency in operating CAD software packages and PLM systems
Assist customers with day-to-day operations
Offer innovative and technically viable solutions for cost reduction, service enhancements, and product advancement
Coordinate with materials and purchasing teams for new part design and procurement
Engage with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering departments to optimize material usage and manufacturing processes
Work closely with Product Regulation and Compliance personnel to ensure product designs comply with relevant government regulations, standards, and codes
Skills & Experience:
Over 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design engineering
Proficient in 3D CAD software
Open to traveling internationally for flexible durations
Demonstrates over 2 years of professional experience in the field
Qualification:
BEng/BSc/BTech degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
