Reference: JHB002077-KDW-1 Our client, a leading automation company based in Port Elizabeth, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with a degree and 4-7 years' automotive industry experience (e.g. lifts, body handling equipment, conveyors). Min of 4 – 7 years post-qualification experience in the automotive industry (lifts, body handling equipment, conveyors etc.) essential. Proficient in the use of Autodesk Inventor/ Solidworks. Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Ability to perform engineering calculations. Ability to read and fully understand engineering plans and details. Excellent technical understanding of engineering principles. Working knowledge of ISO Standards. Responsibilities 3D modelling using Autodesk Inventor. 2D drafting using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Autodesk Inventor. Preparation and review of technical documentation including proposals, statements of works (SoW), and specifications. Production of bills of materials (BoMs). Providing technical support for the manufacturing team. Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals. Liaison with suppliers and manufacturing team. Leading and participating in internal and external design review meetings. Work collaboratively with design engineers and project managers. Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices. Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets. R 480000 - R 540000 - Annually
