This role will be responsible for ensuring that products and services meet or exceed industry and regulatory standards. Evaluate Client drawing packages and develop Bills of Materials, and Engineering Drawing packages that consider all necessary allowances for forming and machining and fabrication. Providing support to Supply Chain to correctly purchase material according to specification. Identify cost saving opportunities in material supply and re-design components where necessary. Assist Estimating by calculating costs on potential projects. Provide technical support to Production and QA. This includes, Jig Design, problem solving, setup, best practice, ensuring client specifications are being adhered to. Liaising with client Engineering and Technical Departments. Product Support and Warranty Claim Investigation. This will involve travelling to Mine Sites. Reverse Engineer and 3d Modelling of Equipment for Repair or re-manufacture. Assist with the mentoring and training of Engineering Students (P1 and P2), and Junior Technicians. Assist with the company's efforts in continuous improvement. Work closely with Project Management. Any other reasonable task that may be required from time to time. Minimum qualification, National Diploma Mechanical Engineering -S4/T3. Minimum of 2 years' experience, preferably in a Heavy Manufacturing Environment. Proficient in mechanical design using AutoCAD (preferable) and Solid Works. Solid understanding of Steel material grades and properties.
