DMS Powders is the world leader in the production, distribution and marketing of dense media ferrosilicon powders and wishes to fill the following vacancy . Main Responsibilities Ensures optimum plant and equipment availability in accordance with short- and long-term production plans and priorities. Responsible for diverse technical areas including equipment and component maintenance strategy selection, equipment maintenance cost modelling, life cycle analysis, operational risk management, and the re-engineering of equipment for reliability improvement with a goal of down time reduction and maximum plant and equipment reliability. Ensure all equipment/assets initiatives and processes related to electrical, instrumentation and mechanical plant are in conformance with OHSA and Regulations (Act 85 of 1993). Provide technical expertise to supervisors in managing external suppliers/contractors executing maintenance planned/forced shutdowns and CAPEX projects. Assist with adherence to planned capital budget and maintenance operational budget. Review, develop and implement maintenance safe work procedures and ensure standard of work is adhered to. Assist HOD in driving RCM Implementation (Reliability Centre Maintenance) within the business. Conduct RCAs (Root-Cause Analysis) with an objective of implementing continuous improvements (CI) as recommendations and implementations. Ensure equipment performance (and availability) and detailed failure analysis is done as needed. Oversee risk identification and overall/specific risk reduction and contractor management (primarily on shutdowns and projects). Provide technical support with maintaining of Quality Systems, (ISO 9001), ISO14001, ISO 45001 and OHSACT 85 of 1993 and Regulations. Evaluate and provide appropriate actions recommended by evaluated Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) results. Provide technical input to supervisors for daily technical work scope. B.Eng. / B.Tech. / Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Project management within a maintenance/engineering environment – ( a must ) Government Certificate of Competence (Factories) – (advantageous) Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in heavy engineering maintenance environment. Planning, execution and controlling of maintenance CAPEX projects. Proficient in Computerised Maintenance Management System (JDE, SAP etc). Market related Apply Now
