The Mechanical Fitter is responsible to maintain, repair and install the mechanical systems and components at Paddington/Binduli Processing Plant associated work areas, in a safe and efficient manner. Maintenance Fitters will be required to complete routine PM’s, Shutdown work as well as some shift coverage and call out work. All work is to be completed in line with company safety and quality standards a safe and efficient manner whilst still being compliant with all relevant Statutory requirements and health and safety regulations. Key Duties / Tasks : Diagnosis of faults and equipment breakdowns. Estimation of time and materials required to complete jobs, and raising of orders. Carry out time and material estimations for planned tasks and enter associated parts orders. Undertaking repairs and component change outs, where required. Undertaking preventative maintenance inspections, equipment repairs and associated component change outs in a safe, responsible and timely manner. Regular inspections of tools and equipment, ensuring good working order. Regular inspections of tooling, equipment, work areas, and plant to identify hazards, operational compliance, damage and defects. Provide training, supervision and support to Apprentices, where required. Additional duties over shutdown periods as required. Assist new employees and Contractors in the application of Company Policies and Procedures. Any other duties as required. Ensure all tasks meet quality standards and deadline and are carried out safely. Skills and Experience : WORK KNOWLEDGE: Minimum of 2 years mine site fixed plant mechanical experience Minimum of 3 years post apprentice mechanical work experience COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Mature team player with good communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively using the 2 way radio. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Able to speak, read and write legible English at an Australian Secondary School standard. COMPUTER SKILLS: Previous Pronto (or similar) experience (desirable) Basic skills Microsoft Office Suite (desirable) Physical Task Capabilities: Climb stairs and ladders. Lift 20kg from floor to waist height. Lift 15kg from waist height to overhead. Manoeuvre around machinery and machinery compartments. Stand for long periods (including on un-even surfaces and in awkward positions). Reasonable agility and strength. Flexible and good core strength. Some work at heights Some work in confined space.
