Mechanical Supervisor-3-5 yrs exp (Contract) Richardsbay, KZN Our client requires the services of a Contract Manager-10 yrs exp . POSITION: Fixed Term Contract for 6-12 months (estimated) (option to extend). COMMENCEMENT : As soon as possible. REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in a supervisory role within a projects environment. EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years of experience as Mechanical Supervisor with projects environment Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions. Familiarity with preventive maintenance software and practices. Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to a safe work environment THE ROLE: Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of mechanical technicians and mechanics. Provide guidance, support, and training to ensure a high level of technical expertise within the team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment. Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to minimize production downtime. Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical breakdowns promptly. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues. Collaborate with the maintenance team to perform testing and diagnostic procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance activities. Provide regular updates to management on the status of mechanical operations. Assist in the development and management of the mechanical department budget. Optimize resource utilization and control costs related to maintenance and repairs. Enforce and promote a culture of safety within the mechanical department. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Implement and monitor safety protocols during maintenance activities. Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and quality assurance, to optimize overall manufacturing processes. Participate in cross-functional teams for continuous improvement initiatives. Apply Now
