Mechatronic Engineer - Pretoria
Position: Mechatronic Engineer Location: Pretoria Salary: Market related Closing date: End Feb 2024 We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechatronic Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Mechatronic Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of integrated electromechanical systems that combine mechanical engineering with electronics and computer control. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of cutting-edge products and solutions that involve a seamless integration of mechanical components, electronics, and software. Responsibilities: System Design and Integration: Design and develop mechatronic systems by combining mechanical components, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems. Ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components for optimal system performance. Electromechanical System Development: Develop and implement control algorithms for electromechanical systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and prototype mechatronic systems from concept to production. Control System Design: Design, analyze, and implement control systems for mechatronic applications. Optimize control algorithms to enhance system efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes for mechatronic systems and conduct thorough testing to validate design concepts. Troubleshoot and debug issues in mechatronic systems during the development phase. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software developers to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to system design. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications. Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals. Maintain comprehensive records of the development process for future reference. Research and Innovation: Stay current with advancements in mechatronics, robotics, and automation technologies. Contribute to the identification and integration of emerging technologies to enhance product performance. Requirements & Qualifications: Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in designing and implementing mechatronic systems. Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design. Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++, Python, or others relevant to mechatronics. Familiarity with control systems, automation, and robotics.
