Media24: User Experience Designer – Cape Town - South Africa
FINMEDIA24 is seeking an experienced User Experience Designer at their Cape Town branch for their financial and investment focused corporate and consumer product offerings. This position will report to the CIO and business heads and will facilitate continuous development of user experience stories, design patterns, navigation maps and continuous wireframe prototyping, etc. You will work closely with a talented team of developers, testers, business analysts, product managers and technical writers using Agile/scrum methodologies. The ideal candidate comes to us with technically minded design skills, user experience background and any financial and/or investment related experience will be a big bonus. As technology is the key to our success, we build most of the necessary applications in-house with highly motivated teams. Using Agile development methods, we are able to adapt to emerging needs of business quickly and deliver applications that provide the necessary features in the fastest way possible. Requirements The user experience designer serves as the key ingredient during initial prototyping as well as continuously managing design expectations between developers, business and designers. We encourage a collaborative and concurrent design/ development process, but responsibilities would include: • Design research • Information architectures • Wireframes • Workflows • Interaction design • Visual design • Flash demos • Usability testing • Internal presentations • Design documentation Advantageous As a user experience designer you will need to demonstrate experience in and meet the following requirements: • Strong focus on usability • Wireframe prototyping experience • Knowledge of UX design patterns • Usability testing experience • Site audit knowledge • Ability to create flows and navigation maps • Familiar with user stories or scenarios • Graphic mockup experience • Should be familiar with Human Factors theory • Experience with user-centred design principles • Strong understanding of human-computer interaction • Understanding of basic psychology beneficial • Should be familiar with computer science discipline • Should be familiar with graphic design discipline • Understanding of persona techniques a bonus Personal Skills/Attributes You will need to possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to workface-to-face with stakeholders. Therefore excellent presentation and communication skills are essential.
