Media Strategist - Gauteng

Key purpose of the role:The media strategist will be responsible for continually reviewing, assessing, modifying, and enhancing PMB’s product offering to both direct and agency clients. This involves staying updated on local and international developments and innovations across all media types to inform PMB’s competitive strategies. The role requires understanding and applying market data to create value propositions that address clients' media strategies in alignment with PMB’s commercial growth aspirations. Additionally, the role is accountable for developing and executing the go-to-market processes for new media products, ensuring their success and reporting on their impact. Guidance and coaching of AE agency sales approaches, pitch techniques, and increasing success rates and ARPU are also crucial aspects of this role.Key outputs/accountability:Product development:Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new media products across radio and digital brands.Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to increase sales opportunities.Guide, coach, and train the sales team on product knowledge and associated collateral.Collaborate with the Media Intelligence team to analyse insights effectively to drive market share.Media sales strategy input:Work closely with the chief intelligence officer on sales strategy, particularly for agency teams.Contribute to agency trading deal approaches and structures.Assess various tactical solutions and find macro approaches to meeting client needs and campaign opportunities.Deliver strategic insights and solutions to clients, understanding the relationship between live and archive data.Internal reporting:Assist in gathering and summarising information for internal Exco, Board, and Shareholder reports.Educational qualifications:A formal marketing or media-related qualification would be preferable.Required knowledge and experience:Preferably, but not limited to, eight years’ work experience in a top media agency in a strategy role.Good understanding of the SA media landscape.Strong relationships at a senior level in the media industry.Essential to have strong digital as well as traditional media experience.Project management experience.Required skills:Communication, analytical, and research abilities.Exceptional problem-solving and negotiation skills.Persuasive and result-driven.Meticulous with crisis management skills.Leadership and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in media analysis tools and post-campaign software.Basic understanding of research approaches and tools.Attributes:Strategic thinker with hands-on ability.Future-focused with a collaborative approach.Demonstrable track record in innovation.Highly professional with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Self-managed and initiative-taking.Ability to work under pressure and excellent presentation skills.Suitable candidates will be selected in accordance with Primedia Broadcasting’s Emplo https://protool.gumtree.co.za/external-link-browser.html?urlaHR0cHM6Ly9lbi16YS53aGF0am9icy5jb20vY29vcG9iX19jcGxfX18xMzIwXzU2MDY5X180OTc/dXRtX3NvdXJjZT1ndW10cmVlJnV0bV9tZWRpdW09ZmVlZCZrZXl3b3JkPQ&jid1788218&xid1320_56069 Apply Now
