MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Matric Qualification Basic Computer Literacy Fluent in English and Zulu Excellent communication and interpersonal skills DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist patients at reception: Serves patients by greeting them and helping them to access the clinic services in a friendly and professional manner. Answering telephone calls and referring inquiries appropriately. Assist doctors and nurses. Optimising patient satisfaction by minimizing waiting times and directing patient flow. Scheduling of appointments. Preparing and maintaining patient files. Maintaining confidentiality of patient records. Maintaining adequate medicine trolley and stationery supplies in the consulting rooms and ensuring consulting rooms are neat and tidy. Assist with prepackaging of medicines for use in the dispensary. Assist with the disposal of medical waste and ensure an adequate supply of medical waste containers. Maintaining a neat and orderly reception area SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Exceptional multitasking and time management skills. Ability to show compassion and empathy to patients. Good teamwork skills. Meticulous and organized. Telephone skills. Quick learner who takes initiative and requires little or no supervision. Energetic, positive, outgoing, people person. Experience in a healthcare environment.
