A leading medical equipment company wishes to employ a Sales Representative within their Imaging Division based in Johannesburg. The sales territory covers state institutions in Gauteng South and Gauteng North. Current relationships with government hospitals is ESSENTIAL The successful incumbent would be responsible for the Ultrasound and Imaging product portfolios. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager. Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Completed Matric Minimum 3 years medical equipment sales experience is ESSENTIAL MUST have current relationships with government hospitals Extensive external sales experience Ability to show growth in a developing territory Valid Driver's license and own reliable vehicle South African Citizen Medical devices industry background ESSENTIAL Having worked in and having knowledge of the sales territory and relevant hospitals would be an added advantage Medical Sales experience is KEY Characteristics: Energetic and dynamic Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Relevant work experience, including ability to build relationships with customers Product knowledge within the Medical Devices sector Prospecting and negotiating skills Presentation, sales and closing skills Excellent customer service Meeting sales goals and targets Territory management Self-Confidence and extroverted individual Client relationships Motivation for sales Key Responsibilities include but not limited to: Territory : Gauteng South and North Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs. Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors. Ability to meet sales targets. Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor. Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers. Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature. Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses. Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques. Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments. Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Market related plus commission
