Medical Sales Representative - Sandton

Requirements:
  • 3 years' experience in marketing and sales in medical equipment
  • National Senior Certificate
  • Relevent Diploma or Degree
  • Valid Licence and Transport
  • Computer literacy essential

Responsibilities:

Operational Management
  • Strong sales skills
  • Commercial awareness and in-depth knowledge of relevant markets and positioning of medical devices
  • Promote and sell assigned product portfolio.
  • Consistently achieve & exceed determined sales objectives and targets.
  • Take and follow up on orders
  • Be available to work after hours and on weekends.
  • Travel to assigned territory to establish new business, assist with medical procedures, do product training and assessment of customer needs.
  • Travel to territories outside of scope to assist when required.
  • Arrange appointments with doctors, pharmacists, and hospital medical teams, which may include pre-arranged appointments or regular 'cold' calling.
  • Co-ordinate delivery of all products and installation of devices in collaboration with Logistics manager.
  • Demonstrate or present products to healthcare staff including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists.
  • Monitor competitor activity and competitors' products ensuring competitive pricing.
Customer Relations
  • Arrange in-service training with new clients.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with medical staff and support administrative staff.
  • Develop strategies for increasing opportunities to meet and talk to contacts in the medical and healthcare sector.
  • Distribute marketing material at current & potential clients.
  • Follow up and report product complaints to line manager and compliance immediately as received.
  • Provide product and technical support service to customers.

Warehouse Management:
  • Manage and maintain accurate levels of own warehouse inventory and consignment stock.
  • Submit weekly stock and demo/loan units reports to logistics.

Expense Management:
  • Manage area expenses by keeping work related expenditure under control
  • Maintain records of work-related expenses and submit to finance as required

Continous Improvement:
  • Gather field information & identify areas of improvement to meet business needs.
  • Improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Keep up to date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company, and interpret, present, and discuss this data with health professionals.
  • Availability to travel internationally for training/congresses.
  • Regularly attend company meetings, technical data presentations, briefings and in-house training sessions.
