Perform various laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses according to established procedures and protocols. Prepare and handle specimens, samples, and reagents with accuracy and attention to detail. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are properly calibrated and functioning correctly. Record and analyze data, documenting results accurately in laboratory notebooks or computer databases. Assist in the development, validation, and optimization of new laboratory procedures and techniques. Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during experiments or analyses, seeking guidance or assistance when necessary. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety of oneself and others. Adhere to ethical standards and regulations governing laboratory research and practice, including those related to patient confidentiality and data integrity. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12 certificate). National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution. 2 years of relevant work experience HPCSA Registration Technical Requirements: Proficiency in laboratory techniques, procedures, and instrumentation relevant to the specific area of specialization. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other computerized data management systems.
