Reference: DBN002621-JB-1 Seeking a Merchandise Coordinator to join a leading Supplier to the major SA fashion retail chains. (Durban, KZN) Duties & Responsibilities : Assisting the Merchandiser to prepare for range presentations, overseas travel, etc. Assisting the Merchandiser with costings and loading all costings onto the system (Swift). Working with and assisting the Merchandiser in managing and coordinating all orders. The coordinator is a crucial link between the internal team and buyers and suppliers. Chase buyers for PO's for all confirmed orders Check orders are raised correctly - delivery dates, prices, colours. Email suppliers the buyers projection map. Raise indents (orders) to suppliers. Send an on-order to the suppliers each week of orders raised to confirm they have received. Milestone Tracking (MST) : Chase suppliers for fit samples, lab dips, strike offs, PPS, and BPS samples. Once received track on system (Swift) and handover to designer & QA team for checking & processing. Send off to buyers and chase for approvals. Email all approvals to suppliers. If not approved, chase for re-submission, and check leadtime will be maintained. Monitor leadtimes at all times to ensure orders run to schedule and are shipped on time. Copied on queries from factories with regards to the design/style etc. Work with frequent amendments and ensure all changes are carefully communicated and actioned. Send seals back to factories timeously for bulk production. Send factories packing instructions. Tag factories for printing of swingtags/print tickets. Follow up on pre-shipment audit inspections (AI inspection) and shipments. Ensure timeous and accurate updating MST and orders on the system (Swift). Daily correspondences with buyers/planners and suppliers. Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with suppliers and buyers. Requirements : Min 1-2 years' experience in a similar role. Relevant experience working in a fashion manufacture/supply environment. Understanding of fashion supply chain leadtimes, deadlines, dealing with buyers, etc. Admin oriented, organized, and process driven. Strong attention to detail. Excellent follow up on all email and other correspondence. Excellent communication and admin skills. Proactive and able to prioritise and handle pressure Computer literate and proficient in Excel and systems. Organised and pro-active team player.
