PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To manage the production team according to safety standards to attain production targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Comply with safety standards:

1.1. Maintain health, safety, security, and housekeeping within the internal environment

1.2. Conduct a Task Analysis and take appropriate action to address identified risks

1.3. Conduct an issue-based risk assessment and take appropriate action

1.4. Conduct a continuous risk assessment In the workplace

1.5. Comply with Legal requirements within the area of responsibility

1.6. Comply with Company Policies, Standards, Rules, and Procedures

1.7. Ensures all work procedures are carried out by safety standards and safety practice

1.8. Initiate emergency procedures when and if required

1.9. Follow emergency procedures when and if required

2. Process Management:

2.1. To ensure production targets are met according to plan

2.2. To manage and develop staff responsible for production activities

2.3. To manage efficiency by ensuring the best possible revenue generation In optimizing production and limiting costs

2.4. To manage plant safety performance according to or better than a business plan

2.5. To manage environmental standards according to or better than legislation "

2.6. To optimize plant capacity according to or better than the business plan by operational management of plant people and processes

2.7. To achieve and maintain plant and equipment efficiency and running time

2.8. To implement contingency plans to reduce production losses

2.9. To ensure compliance & review legislative and engineering standards

7. Assessing / Evaluating

7.1. Evaluating the quality of output of a production system

7.2. Evaluating information for purposes of recommendation

7.3. Making a logical evaluation of new ideas

7.4. Critically examining information for accuracy/quality

8. Checking and Reporting:

8.1. Random Inspection of the whole plant process to ensure effective performance

8.2. Report unsafe working conditions.

8.3. Communicate any serious deviations in the plant process.

A.SKILLS:

Demonstrate knowledge of the relevant terminology used in mining
Demonstrate knowledge of the various activities related to the processing of minerals
Grade 12 / Std10 - Maths & Science
Degree in Chemical Engineering (Metallurgy)
2 to 4 years in Managing Metallurgical Plant
