As a Metallurgy Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring plant efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting management in implementing and maintaining effective Fatality Prevention Standards. Investigating and solving plant incidents. Optimizing raw materials preparation processes and operations. Controlling total process costs and consumables. Maintaining plant safety, health, and environmental (SHE) compliance. Developing and implementing plant-specific practices to enhance overall performance. Conducting root cause analyses (RCAs) for process and plant deviations. Managing capital projects. Troubleshooting process and equipment bottlenecks. Qualifications and experience: To excel in this role, you'll need: A National Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering (NQF6) or NQF 7 Btech. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. The ability to influence people from diverse disciplines. Effective communication skills at all organizational levels. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Basic financial skills (budget management). A solid understanding of safety protocols. Knowledge of plant processes.
