Lab Microbiologist Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Lab Microbiologist to join our quality team. The ideal candidate is an energetic individual who can take initiative and assist with routine testing and ad hoc quality control as well as collecting, analysing and trending micro data. Responsibilities Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the designated laboratory area, following cleaning schedules, 5S principles, and good laboratory practices. Conduct routine testing and ad-hoc quality control (QC), record and analyse test results, and report any non-conformances to the QC Manager. Perform regular stock control for chemicals and consumables. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and incident investigations. Compile and share lab reports. Micro testing of raw materials, finished product, environmental, validations and water samples. Timely release of finish product to the trade. Validate, develop and update test methods and procedures as required. Preparation of culture media. Safe disposal of media and product waste. Collecting, analysing and trending of micro data. Requirements National Diploma in microbiology or equivalent. BTech in microbiology or chemistry would advantageous. Minimum of three years' experience in a SANAS accredited microbiology laboratory. Fluent in Afrikaans and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work independently. Strong organisational and critical thinking skills. Fast learner with strong multitasking ability and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively. Good work ethic and technical competency in microbiological techniques. Knowledge of environmental swab testing. Knowledge of good laboratory practices.
