LOCATION: RUSTENBURG, NW The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical and electrical systems in smelter rebuilds and related construction and shut down projects. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, precision, and a commitment to safety. The Millwright will work closely with engineers, electricians, and other construction professionals to ensure that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally and meet project specifications. Installation and Assembly: Install, align, and balance new equipment and machinery, including conveyor systems, pumps, and heavy industrial equipment, following technical specifications and drawings. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems. Diagnose and repair faults in machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime. Inspections and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure the proper functioning of mechanical and electrical components. Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly. Collaborate with other trades to implement effective solutions. Fabrication and Modification: Fabricate and modify parts as needed, using various tools and machinery. Ensure all modifications meet the required specifications and standards. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Ensure all documentation is upto-date and complies with project requirements. Report on own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Reports completed to required standard. •Physical Requirement: -Certificate of fitness and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. •SHE Requirement -Site Specific Induction •Additional Requirements: -Willingness to work extended hours, weekends and shut-downs on various AAP as necessary to meet project deadlines. -Valid driver's license Minimum of 35 years' experience as a mechanical fitter in the construction industry, preferably within smelter rebuilds or heavy industrial projects. Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and specifications. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and structural components. Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors. Qualifications: Grade 12 or Technical Trade Specific N2 Section 28 qualification from accredited MQA training centres Market Related.
