Reference: CPT000618-DB-1 Our global logistics client is seeking a self-motivated, highly driven and experienced National Transport Manager to join their exceptional team at the head office in Kwa-Zulu Natal. R30 000 - R35 000 | Durban | Permanent | On-site DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage transport costs by creating cost-effective routes to minimize the need for external companies. Lead our team of drivers, providing guidance support and performance management. Collaborate with operations to develop strategies and initiatives to improve transport efficiency. Managing and developing the logistics teams that delivers value and results for the business. Project management, lead team activities and deliver projects on time with accurate planning and organizing including the development of new working practices. Conduct truck inductions and truck inspections, you will additionally conduct truck safety meetings and monitor safety performance. Oversee the transportation and distribution of all cargo. To implement new policies or modify existing procedures to minimize costs, increase accuracy, improve customer service and safety, and meet product distribution needs. Support the effective implementation of policies and procedures relating to regulatory impact and safety requirements. Submit weekly and monthly reports regarding Assets and verification. Liaise with claims department to effect repairs to accident damaged vehicles to ensure fleet availability. Responsible for the transfer of assets to different regions and updating asset register. Maintain fleet forecast and ensure fleet availability. High level audit for daily execution plan to determine and identify feasibility and points with a view to mitigate risk. Ensure effective communication and alignment between stakeholders be it internal, principal customers and other on-site service providers. REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Logistics/ Transport. Experience 5-7 years' experience within the role. Experience in managing logistics and people. Asset-light 4PL model. Required Skills Excellent organizational and decision taking skills. Excellent knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements. Analytical skills. Excellent Interpersonal and People skills. Excellent written and verbal skills. Proven leadership skills. In-depth understanding of distribution in logistics.
