Job Title: Senior Superintendent II, DBF Smelter Plant Location: Democratic Republic of Congo Salary: R70 000.00 – R90 000.00 Per Month Job Type: Permanent Sectors: Engineering Reference: NCM001147/RMt Vacancy Details This copper company in The Democratic Republic of Congo is in search of a Senior Superintendent II, DBF Smelter Plant to join their ever growing team of dynamic professionals… Job & Company Description: This client of mine positioned to soon become one of the world’s largest copper producers is looking for a Senior Superintendent that will control and oversee the safe and effective operation of the Direct to Blister Furnace (DBF) Smelter Plant, and the production of blister copper. In addition, this role includes operationalising strategy, monitoring and reporting on machine performance and the management of resources (technical specialist) to ensure that daily production targets are met. . The key responsibilities for this role will include: Develop and implement the DBF production plant in alignment with the company’s strategy and DRC legislation and regulations Consult on, supervise and implement DBF Design, Construction & Commissioning Ensure the timely and systematic operation of the DBF Plant Produce blister copper in order to meet the monthly and annual production targets Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports Qualification: Bachelor Engineering, Metallurgy Certificate in Hazard Management Experience: 8 years’ relevant copper smelter plant experience with proven experience in building and commissioning a Smelter plant At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial position Operation, control and maintenance of Flash furnaces, including DBF machines and equipment Troubleshooting Smelting methodologies Production and Smelter Standard Operating Procedures Fluency in Mandarin preferred.
