Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Management of the companys network, including relevant client-managed networks and infrastructure, from a growth, capacity, performance, redundancy and ongoing service point of view
- Collaborate with senior network engineers, IT teams and 3rd parties to resolve complex network problems and incidents
- Configuring of network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
- Responsible for all of the companys physical (network) infrastructure in South Africa such as data cabling, comms rooms including power to those devices
- Participate in optimizing network configurations for efficiency and performance.
- Troubleshoot network issues promptly and effectively
- Analyze and identify root causes of network anomalies and implement solutions to minimize downtime
- Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively monitor network performance
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks and security incidents in real time to maintain a robust network
- Implementation of network security measures, including firewall rule management, intrusion detection, and prevention systems
- Assist in enforcing security protocols to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality
- Participate in network security practices, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data
- Supplier management by form of regular performance meetings and reporting
- Maintain detailed and organized network documentation
- Create and update network diagrams, record configurations, and develop procedural guidelines to ensure network transparency and consistency
- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing connectivity issues and ensuring a seamless network experience
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in computer science, information science, or similar
- Relevant certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA
- Must have call centre industry experience as a Network Engineer
- 3 5 years of experience in:
- Genesys and telephony support environment
- Configuring of network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
- Troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Network monitoring and performance optimisation
- Network security implementation
- Governance, documentation and reporting
- End-user support
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate in a 24/7 environment
- Availability to work on-site
