Description Position Summary: The clients network operations division operates, architects, and maintains the core network infrastructure of the business. The team manages a range of network services which support the clients core business and continuously investigates various performance optimizations. This division is responsible for network availability, capacity, and release management of infrastructure, and it drives technical innovation for related services within the clients group. The responsibility will be to maintain and ensure the availability of core network infrastructure services, interpret business requirements into a technical network solution and provide technology roadmaps governed by strategic direction and business requirements. The position will require coordination with infrastructure projects and operations for the region and business. The Network Operations Engineer's role is to ensure that core network operations are reliable and efficient by monitoring network performance, performing planned maintenance, proactively identifying and repairing network difficulties, responding to network connectivity challenges, providing technical direction, using automation tools to enhance operational efficiencies, and mentoring engineers in operations and basic networking. Roles and Responsibilities: Ensure that the core infrastructure is operational by proactively identifying, investigating and resolving technical incidents and problems to resolution Ensure the resolution of escalated high-complexity incidents and requests Provide input and be actively involved in the business strategy and initiatives Prepares review analysis, capacity planning and recommendations for the existing network infrastructure Manage the planning and performance of the numerous tasks that support our ongoing operations Establish and manage positive vendor relationships through effective negotiations and communication Roadmap system upgrades and communicate progress and activities to internal stakeholders Align technology, design, reporting, compliance and cost with the business requirements and good practice interconnecting everyone, anywhere Drive continuous service improvement efforts Provide input into the design process and infrastructure solutions Ensure the operational readiness of implemented solutions Participate in design workshops and forums Ensure the quality standards adherence through evaluating, designing and preparing detailed specifications Assists in all aspects of network management, including implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks Analyses network characteristic Conducts network architecture design, viability and cost studies Establish and maintain network performance utilizing technical experience to analyze and troubleshoot network problems Profile Qualifications, Experience and Skills: 5 years of relevant IT experience with a strong networking and telecommunications background 5 years' experience using network protocols for routing and switching, including but not limited to BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, STP, VPNs Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or appropriate Industry Certifications, such as: CCNP Service Provider or CCNP Enterprise JNCIP-SP or JNCIP-ENT or equivalent Knowledge of a wide variety of network solutions, standards and protocols Knowledge of network automation and scripting languages such as Python Experience in working with multi-cultured employees Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to take ownership of projects and initiatives with minimal supervision Ability to work under pressure and is stress-tolerant Ability to continuously learn new technologies and adapt to technological advances
