Methodist Homes for the Aged is a Non Profit Organisation that provides accommodation, rental units and mid and frail care services to elderly residents at 14 villages across Gauteng and the North West Province. We have a vacancy for an energetic and enthusiastic Nursing Manager to take charge of the Nursing in the Dementia unit and Care Centre of Samuel Broadbent House located in Potchefstroom. PURPOSE OF JOB To unsure direct resident care and services to all our Elders. Promote a compassionate and social environment for the Care Centre Elders. Meet the physical and sensory requirements of our Elders. Eliminate Helplessness, Boredom and Loneliness for our residents. MAJOR PERFORMANCE AREAS To Administer and be responsible for the smooth, efficient running to the Nursing services of the home. To ensure that residents are receiving holistic care in respect of the physical, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing. RESPONSIBILITIES Record administration and admissions. Safety and hygiene of residents. Maintain high nursing standards. Manage and control of medication. Leading staff to get the best from the team In-service training of all staff. QUALIFICATIONS Registered Professional Nursing qualification and current Registration with SANC. Proven management skills. Geriatric nursing experience would be an advantage. REQUIREMENTS The ability and willingness to be a forward-thinking, hands-on leader. A proven track record of managing and leading staff to get the best from a team. Be passionate about holistic care for elderly people. A commitment to discipline. The ability to participate in a management team Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
