To ensure professional holistic care of patients and maintain best patient care at all times as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. To assess patient's health by focusing on the physical, mental and emotional status. To identify oncological emergencies and act promptly To identify the problem and formulate a nursing care plan with established treatment priorities based on resources. To provide advice, support and care to the patients and those close to them Ensure understanding and implementation of the complexity of the chemotherapy drugs and educating the patient on coping with side effects. To ensure mixing of drugs as per protocols and procedures Ensure proper administration of chemotherapy Maintain safety standards to ensure that best patient safety is adhered to Must have at least 5 years' experience preferably in an Oncology environment. Must be willing to work in a team and work independently. Supervision or experience as a Team Leader would be advantageous. Own transport is required. Must comply with codes of Practice of SANC. Must have experience in the following: Understanding of blood reports and reporting abnormalities Basic skills /Competency as per the clinical requirements Venous Cannulation Accessing of intravenous devices -ports, groshong-lines Dose calculations, BSA, AUC -Carboplatinum Educational Requirements: Must have Grade 12.
