Our client, a prominent international manufacturing company based in Mobeni , Durban, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join their team. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in safeguarding the health and well-being of the employees, managing safety protocols, and conducting medical examinations. Requirements and Experience: Minimum of 4 years' experience in Occupational Health within a similar environment. Experience with Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and HIV counselling. Proficiency in Microsoft Office at an intermediate level. Basic Life Support certification. In-depth understanding of the OHS Act and associated regulations. Minimum of a BTech in Occupational Health or equivalent qualification. (Non-negotiable) Current registration with the South African Nursing Council. (Non-negotiable) Certificates in audio and lung function testing. Valid dispensing license. (Non-negotiable) Valid driver's license. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive health services to ensure the physical, mental, and social well-being of all employees. Diagnose and treat workplace-related illnesses and injuries, referring employees when necessary. Assess employees' medical and occupational history, as well as the work environment, to identify potential health concerns. Prepare monthly reports on clinic attendances, workplace injuries, and absenteeism. Efficiently manage the clinic budget and oversee medication dispensing. Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work. Liaise with external service providers and Workmen's Compensation as needed. Conduct entry, exit, and periodic medical examinations. Assist with medical boarding applications. Provide first-line support and care for onsite emergencies. Treat workplace injuries and manage documentation in compliance with relevant regulations. Ensure regular checks of first aid boxes and resuscitation equipment in accordance with OHS Act requirements. Safeguard and control clinic equipment. Provide counselling services, including Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and HIV counselling. Collaborate closely with HR to support staff welfare initiatives related to health and wellness. Working Hours: Monday to Tuesday: 7am to 4pm Wednesday to Friday: 7am to 12pm This role offers a competitive basic salary plus benefits and a guaranteed 13th cheque.
