Grade 12 / NQF level 4 equivalent · Chamber of Mines Advanced Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (CMEC) · Certificate in Occupational Hygiene · Certificate in Occupational Hygiene Risk Assessment · Certificate in Occupational Hygiene legislation Experience of at least five (5) years' in the regular statutory reports compilation, reporting and monitoring · Experience of at least eight (8) years' in the mining or concentrator environment, Practical experience of at least five (5) years' in Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene Associated member - Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa · Registration with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH) on Occupational Hygienist level (Advantageous) · Computer Literate in MS Office, SAP, and other specialised technical programs · Medical Certificate of Fitness Identify and appraise hazardous conditions, practices, scope and action for occupational hygiene development requirements · Implementing control systems for the occupational hygiene hazards that may cause illness or adverse health risk to persons as per legislative requirements · Manage the establishment and maintenance of a system of occupational hygiene measurements of all workplaces where the hazards prevail · Conduct and manage risk assessments that indicate a need to establish and maintain a system of occupational hygiene measurements as required by legislation · Risk assessment and control, Personal exposure monitoring, Hierarchy of controls, Reporting and reviewing · Compile and update mine ventilation plans, which need to be immediately available to emergency response · Select and position auxiliary fans, regulators and other controls, ensuring the required air volumes are provided in workplaces · Report promptly to the manager any defect or deficiency in the ventilation or any atmospheric contaminant level in a workplace that exceeds the exposure standard · Successful teamwork and good employee relations Apply Now
